Help Fight Global Warming

Do you ever wonder what’s going on with the weather lately?  Really?

So what’s the hype?  Well, I’ve always dreamed of an ocean front home, but thought I would move there, and not have it move to me.  Luckily we now live at the top of the hill in West Seattle which is surrounded by the Puget Sound because if we don’t do anything about our emissions and Greenland melts like it is on the path to be done within 50 years, that will rise ocean water levels 20ft.  That won’t even be the worst part.  Please don’t change the channel when something about Global Warming comes on, it’s real and you need to pay attention to it.  This is yet more affirmation for me to not have a child.  I wouldn’t ever want my child to have to bare the weight for my generation not minding their emissions!

Hopefully one of these days we can get support from the Government by forcing these Car Manufacturers to start building more efficient cars considering we absolutly have the technology to do it.  This is only the beginning……

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

I find it quite ironic that the folks like us that really have no vested interest in the future (aka Child Free), are the ones that care more about it than the people having kids who should care.

Good on you for finally dumping that gas guzzling seal clubber. If you are still in the market for a large vehicle, there are one or two hybrid SUVs out there which do ok mileage-wise. Personally I’d go for a Camry or Prius hybrid, though the Honda Civic hybrid follows up in a close third.

I definitely am for any sort of green energy that we can reliably produce, but I also think global warming is partly due to trend. I’m not saying vehicle emissions and other polution aren’t aiding in these changes we are seeing, but again, there was an ice age once, then it was gone. Was that global warming due to dinosaur flatulence? I kid, but you see what I’m saying. Again, I’m all for doing something about this, and there’s other benefits to switching to alternatives…like breathing cleaner air etc, etc. And Rob, some of those with kids do care…you shouldn’t use such a broad stroke of the brush with that statement. ;-)

    Cheers!

I agree Rick, I don’t like broad strokes sometimes either. But there are always exceptions to every rule, luckily we have folks like you and Jennifer still out there with great kids, unfortunatly it seems rare anymore to have kids with great parents like you that would care about the status of the planet for future generations.
